Laprade Impresses in Modifieds of Mayhem Debut with Pole and Podium at Montgomery

Montgomery, AL — Matthew Laprade made an immediate impression in his Modifieds of Mayhem Series debut at Montgomery Motor Speedway, capturing the pole position and earning a third-place finish in the 50-lap feature.

The Florida driver showed remarkable poise and pace in his first outing with the high-powered modifieds, never falling outside the top three positions throughout the race. Laprade remained in contention from start to finish, capping off his debut weekend with a well-earned podium against an experienced field.

In addition to his performance, Laprade gained respect throughout the paddock for his clean driving and awareness of the championship situation. Despite being a first-time entrant, he raced respectfully around drivers competing for the series title, showing the maturity and discipline that define a future contender.

“This thing’s got so much more power — they’re definitely my favorite thing I’ve ever driven,” said Laprade. “To qualify on the pole in our first Modifieds race and run with the leaders all night felt great. We wanted to be fast, but also smart and respectful to those running for the championship. I’m really proud of what our team accomplished.”

With a strong debut behind him, Laprade now turns his attention to Houston Motorsports Park on November 8, where he’ll compete in both the Modified and Pro Truck divisions. The Modified race in Houston is not part of the Mayhem Series, but with $10,000 on the line for the winner, it’s expected to draw some of the best Modified drivers in the country — offering Laprade another opportunity to test himself against top-tier competition.
