14 Years Old.
Four Divisions.
One Relentless Drive to Compete at the Highest Level.
Matthew Laprade is a 14-year-old competitive race car driver from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, racing across four divisions in the 2026 season — Pro Trucks, Late Model Stock Cars, Asphalt Modifieds, and Sportsman.
With multiple feature wins, podiums at prestigious events including the Snowball Derby, and a schedule spanning the Southeasts most iconic short tracks, Matthew is one of the most active and accomplished young drivers in grassroots stock car racing today.
Four Divisions. Four Teams.
One Driver.
In 2026, Matthew competes across four racing divisions with four dedicated teams, taking on over 40 races across the Southeast:
-
Pro Truck
Competing with Grant Thompson Racing at Five Flags Speedway, Mobile International Speedway, and Cordele Speedway. The Pro Truck program is where Matthew has built his reputation — racking up wins, podiums, and consistent front-running performances against experienced competition.
-
Late Model Stock Car
Running with Tom Usry Racing across the CARS Tour, IHRA series, I95 Showdown, and weekly events at South Boston Speedway, Anderson Motor Speedway, and Ace Speedway. The LMSC program represents Matthew's most significant step up in class and competition level.
-
Asphalt Modified
Fielded by BMF Shocks & Chassis in the prestigious Modifieds of Mayhem series, with appearances at Montgomery Motor Speedway, Five Flags Speedway, Mobile International Speedway, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, and Cordele Speedway.
-
Sportsman
Campaigning with Boyd Tech at Citrus County Speedway and through New Smyrna Speedweeks. The Sportsman division rounds out a complete and demanding 2026 program that few drivers of any age could match.
